In this post, I’ll be showing you some upcoming high potential blockchain games that are still in development, with a target release date either later this year or early next year.

Before we get started, please keep in mind that although there are many upcoming blockchain games being developed.

The games that I will be listing in this video are my own picks and are based on my opinions only.

Games that I believe will be big in the years to come, and games that will jumpstart the blockchain gaming take over.

Ember Sword

Now let’s start with the game I am looking forward to the most, Ember Sword is a free-to-play fantasy MMORPG with beautiful art style and exciting gameplay.

At the start, you will create your character and choose your home region. Then embark on an adventure, defeating monsters and other players in this beautifully crafted fantasy world.

Or have a peaceful approach to becoming a forager of goods, refiner, or craftsman.

Developers plan to make this rewarding to play even if you have played it for thousands of hours.

And this can happen by making in-game resources traded on the blockchain.

And as well as giving players ownership with NFT’s.

But besides the art style, gameplay, and earning potential.

The main reason why I said that this is my most anticipated game to play is because the developers hate the pay-to-win model.

And they have made it clear that Ember Sword will be a skill-based game.

That means that can’t be a top player by buying your way there.

You need to grind for it and get good at playing the game like everyone else.

It’s a good sign that they plan to remove the pay-to-win model while still keeping the play-to-earn aspect.

The public launch is scheduled for 2022, but alpha and beta versions will be playable in a few months from now.

This is a good game to keep on your radar, and you can bet, that I’ll be creating a lot of content about it when it finally comes out.

Fortified

Fortified is a PVP tower defense blockchain game, set in a medieval world where players can compete with other players to build the best tower defense strategies.

Have matches in your own land, or on neutral territories to battles it out and see who will take home the prize.

Player ownership of assets is still a big and important part of the game.

But players can still join and compete without owning any lands or NFT’s.

If you were able to play Warcraft 3 back in the day, or if your a 90’s kid and frequently visited computer shops/cafes.

Then for sure, you have tried playing tower defense games like Elemental TD or Mafa TD.

I included this because I know full well how enjoyable Tower defense games can be.

And with the integration of blockchain and crypto rewards, the potential for lots of gamers joining when it comes out will also be high.

There’s still no release date for the game, but it’s expected to be out sometime before the end of the year.

Fortified is also being made by GALA games which also has other interesting games in their roadmap.

And they plan to become like Steam in the blockchain gaming world, so it might be a good idea to keep an eye on them.

You can create a Gala games account using my link below

And you can also play their farming game, Townstar.

Sandbox

First of all, The Sandbox is not actually a game in itself, rather, it is a virtual blockchain world or metaverse where players are able to buy lands and create their own game worlds inside The Sandbox.

It kind of resembles Minecraft and Roblox in that sense.

But the biggest reason why this game has so much hype and potential is because of its partnerships with big and established brands like Atari and Square Enix, to name a few.

They also have ownership of lands and they are planning to create their own gaming worlds within the Sandbox metaverse.

If we look at the map of Sandbox, we will see the portions of land that are bought and owned by different people and game developers.

And the reason why they invested and bought a lot of land on Sandbox

Is because there is an earning mechanics, where it is possible for landowners to receive revenue if there are people who will visit or play games on the land that they own

These big game developers are already looking at the next generation of gaming, through blockchain.

My Neighbor Alice

If you are familiar or if you love playing the game Animal Crossing, then you’ll like this game as well

My Neighbor Alice is a multiplayer builder game, where players can buy virtual land.

Land is where they can build their home, plant crops, raise animals, and many more.

The world of My Neighbor Alice is set in Lummelunda Archipelago.

It is a place where animals and humans share space, to make friends and work together.

You can join the neighborhood by buying a piece of land, and by doing different activities like fishing, bug catching, beekeeping, and many more

By interacting with the neighbors, and helping out with the duties and daily activities, players will earn rewards that can be exchanged for in-game items that you can use on your lands like plants, crops, furniture, buildings, or animals.

These assets can be sold both in the in-game marketplace or external marketplaces like OpenSea.

They also said in their whitepaper that the main target of My Neighbor Alice is female gamers.

Since they have noticed that there are a lot of female players in the world, but there are very few games created with them in mind.

Early access release will be in August, and I’ll be posting updates about this in our new Facebook group Blockchain Gamers.

Make sure to join so you won’t miss out.

Guild of Guardians

This is all for all the mobile gamers out there.

I know many of you are looking for a mobile-optimized blockchain game.

And while some of the games featured on my posts will have a mobile version.

Most are only available for PC or Mac only.

But Guild of Guardians is a blockchain action RPG, that is mobile-exclusive and has a triple AAA developer.

Players will create their own dream team of guardians, form guilds, and win epic crypto rewards.

The developers believe that games should be both fun and rewarding, and if one is lacking then it won’t be good.

They aim Guild of Guardians to check both of the boxes and be a game that is both fun and rewarding.

They will also give players the ability to trade in-game items for real money.

Based on the gameplay video, we can expect a fast and triple AAA quality gameplay that can rival the top traditional pay to win mobile games of today.

It is scheduled to release in early 2022 on app stores of both Android and iOS.

Closing

There is no best and perfect game for each gamer, it will always depend on each person’s preference.

So it’s a good idea to check other games and see if it is the right fit for you.

Always remember that a blockchain game can only become successful in the long run if it is both rewarding and also fun to play.
